Rep. Pete Aguilar, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 33rd district since 2015, addressed several policy issues in a series of tweets posted on May 12, 2026.
In his first post, Aguilar highlighted concerns from constituents regarding crime affecting postal services: “Many people in the Inland Empire are frustrated with mailbox theft and vandalism. That’s why I pushed for bipartisan changes in a funding bill urging USPS to handle issues faster and support legislation to make it safer for mail carriers to do their jobs.” (May 12, 2026)
Later that day, Aguilar commented on recent disclosures from the Department of Defense about military expenditures under former President Trump: “BREAKING: The Pentagon just admitted that Trump’s war with Iran has cost $29 BILLION in taxpayer dollars. Yet the Trump administration can’t find a single cent to lower your costs or make healthcare affordable.” (May 12, 2026)
In another tweet, Aguilar criticized proposed budgetary decisions related to housing assistance: “Housing is already too expensive for too many families, and Trump’s budget will only make it worse by making huge cuts to affordable housing and rental assistance. WATCH @ 4 PM as @AppropsDems demand answers and hold the Trump administration accountable:” (May 12, 2026)
Aguilar was born in Fontana, California in 1979 and currently resides in Redlands. He graduated from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001.
