Rep. Pete Aguilar, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 33rd District since 2015, posted a series of messages on his Twitter account between May 10 and May 12, 2026, addressing both community celebrations and national economic concerns.
On May 10, Aguilar acknowledged Mother’s Day with a message to families in his district and nationwide: “Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms, grandmas and caregivers in the Inland Empire and around the country! Thank you for all of your love, guidance and strength https://t.co/SDQu6hy2LN”.
The following day, he criticized Republican spending priorities amid rising living costs: “Costs are skyrocketing and people across the country are struggling to make ends meet. Yet instead of funding healthcare and food assistance, Republicans want to spend $1 BILLION in taxpayer dollars on Trump’s ballroom. Make it make sense.” (May 11).
On May 12, Aguilar attributed recent inflation increases to foreign policy decisions under former President Donald Trump: “Inflation just hit its highest point in THREE YEARS because of Trump’s war with Iran. Everything is more expensive thanks to Republicans. https://t.co/s2DBwK5ceI”.
Aguilar has served as the representative for California’s 33rd District since replacing Gary Miller in Congress in 2015. Born in Fontana in 1979, he currently resides in Redlands and graduated from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001.
