Rep. Pete Aguilar, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 33rd district since 2015, used his social media platform to address several national and international issues in a series of posts on April 13 and 14, 2026.

On April 13, Aguilar marked Holocaust Remembrance Day with a message reflecting on the atrocities committed during World War II. He stated, “On Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the lives and memories of the millions of Jewish people killed during the Holocaust. We recommit ourselves to the fight against antisemitism and hatred in all forms.”

Later that day, Aguilar criticized Republican economic policies and former President Donald Trump’s promises regarding cost reductions for Americans. In his post dated April 13 at 20:42 UTC, he wrote: “Instead of lowering costs on day one like Donald Trump promised, Republican policies are driving up the prices of:

Gas
Health Care
Groceries
Utilities”

Continuing this theme on April 14, Aguilar commented on rising gas prices and broader economic instability linked to recent foreign policy decisions involving Iran. He posted: “Trump’s war with Iran has already made gas prices soar and sent our markets spiraling.

And the economic pain is only going to get worse.”

Aguilar has represented California’s 33rd District in Congress since succeeding Gary Miller in 2015. Born in Fontana in 1979 and currently residing in Redlands, Aguilar earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Redlands in 2001.
