Rep. Pete Aguilar, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California’s 33rd district, recently took to social media to express concerns over various national issues. Aguilar has been a member of Congress since 2015 and resides in Redlands, California.
On June 10, 2025, Aguilar questioned the Secretary of Defense regarding the state of housing for the California National Guard. He noted that despite assurances from the Secretary’s office that housing was being managed personally, “this is what it looked like when they arrived.” Aguilar highlighted issues such as “no shelter, no food and no plan” in his tweet.
Later that day, Aguilar criticized former President Donald Trump’s healthcare policies. He described a $134 million expenditure as “an expensive distraction” from Trump’s alleged plan to remove health care coverage for 16 million people to fund tax breaks for billionaires. This critique was shared in another post.
Aguilar also addressed financial concerns related to military deployments. He shared information from the Department of Defense revealing that deploying National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles would cost taxpayers $134 million. The financial implications were discussed in his tweet on June 10, 2025.
Aguilar graduated from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001 and has represented California’s 33rd District since succeeding Gary Miller.
