On May 28, 2025, investigators conducted a search at a residence on the 7500 block of Oakwood Avenue in Hesperia as part of an investigation into narcotics smuggling at the Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center Work Release. The search resulted in the discovery of two firearms, fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, fraudulent vehicle registrations, and two stolen vehicles.

Four individuals were taken into custody: Micah Dubeau from Beverly Hills, and Brian Stone, Shay Torres, and Jody Chambers from Hesperia. They face charges including “PC 29800(a) Felon in Possession of a Firearm,” “HS 11366 Operating or Maintaining a Drug House,” “HS 11351 Possession For Sale of a Controlled Substance,” and “PC 496 Possession Stolen Property.”

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department emphasizes its ongoing efforts to prevent narcotics smuggling into correctional facilities. These measures aim to ensure safety for both staff and inmates and to curb drug-related issues within these environments.

The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors authorizes the Sheriff to oversee a Work Release program that allows inmates to contribute labor for public facilities while maintaining community ties. Participants can also join the Electronic Confinement Program (ECP) at Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center. The Work Release division is responsible for ensuring compliance with California State Laws during program participation.
