Homicide investigation underway after fatal shooting and vehicle crash in Victorville

Deputies from the Victorville Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of gunfire near B Street in Victorville on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at approximately 11:38 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies found evidence of a shooting between two individuals, including bullet strikes on a nearby building and spent cartridge casings.

Shortly after, at about 11:46 p.m., deputies were called to the scene of a traffic collision near Kentwood Boulevard and Palmdale Road. The driver involved in the crash was identified as Brian Vieyra, 34, of Apple Valley. He was found alone in a red Chevrolet Silverado with multiple gunshot wounds. Vieyra was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail has taken over the investigation. The suspect remains unidentified and is still at large.
