Hesperia murder investigation: Suspect in custody after fatal shooting

On June 23, 2025, deputies responded to a shooting incident on the 9000 block of Santa Fe Avenue in Hesperia. Upon arrival, they found Jasmine Keohi, a 24-year-old resident of Hesperia, deceased on the sidewalk from gunshot wounds. The suspect was identified as Jose Antonio Ramirez, a 41-year-old resident of Hesperia.

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail took over the investigation. It was discovered that Ramirez had also shot at a second victim, an adult male whose identity remains confidential.

Following the incident, Ramirez fled but was located and apprehended by the Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division (SWAT) at a nearby apartment complex. He is currently held at the High Desert Detention Center.

Detective J. Rollins and Sergeant M. Warrick are handling the case under Case No. DR# 192503597 H# 2025-054.
