Hesperia deputies investigate fatal shooting; suspect remains unidentified

Deputies from the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station responded to a shooting incident on May 23, 2025, in the 16000 block of Sequoia Street, Hesperia. Upon arrival, they discovered Blake Rutledge, a 27-year-old resident of Hesperia, deceased inside the residence. Rutledge had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations revealed that several individuals fled the area shortly after the shooting occurred. Despite conducting an area check, deputies were unable to locate any suspects.

The case has been taken over by the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail. Authorities are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact the Homicide Detail at 909-890-4904. Detective A. Duran is leading the investigation under Case No. DR# 192502984 H# 2025-037.
