Apple Valley man succumbs to injuries after shooting incident in Victorville

A man from Apple Valley, identified as 53-year-old Jermaine Trotter, has died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds in an incident that occurred in Victorville. Deputies responded to an assault call on April 17, 2025, at an apartment complex on Seneca Road, where they found Trotter in the parking lot with serious injuries. He was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment.

“On Sunday, April 22, 2025, Trotter died of his injuries, and the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail, assumed the investigation,” stated the Sheriff’s Department.

The authorities have not yet identified or located any suspects involved in the case. The investigation into Trotter’s death is ongoing.
